This is a square I made as part of a quilt being made for a woman who's husband died in Iraq this week. I don't think I could ever have married somebody in the military. She's American, so the maple leaf is to show love from Canada. I'm sending it on part of a group of Canadian women I know.
The fabrics are stuff I dyed (and printed) at school. The green velvet was used for wedding stuff, my ring pin cushion and the flower girl's purse (that had her flowers in it). The pink and burgundy are from a line of knickers I was making.
I really need to make more knickers!
